One of Willow Creek’s most unusual wine offerings is its sweet Chocolate Temptations. It has a residual sugar of 10% and finishes with a velvet chocolatey flavor. Two treats in one glass!
Doug Metzger
Before being involved with Willow Creek, Doug Metzger spent 25 years as the Vice President in charge of engineering at E & D Specialty Stands. During his tenure at E & D, he built a design team that produced everything from a players bench to a 140000 seat Winston Cup racetrack.
Doug became affiliated with Willow Creek Winery in 1999, when he began a business partnership with founder, Jim Emerson. After Jim passed away in 2000 Doug took over the operation of the winery.
Since 2000 Doug has grown the business in multiple aspects including the construction of a concert stage and the camping/picnic-ing grounds. Willowfest, “Jammin’ at the Creek” concert series, and “Cruisin’ at the Creek” weekly car show have also aided in the growth of Willow Creek.
The Metzger family lineage traces back to one of the oldest, most renowned winery in Germany. “Berncasteler Doctor” is located along the Mosel River in the town of Bernkastel, and has been a part of the family since 1630. The German winery is mostly known for the history of its Riesling.
While not at the winery Doug is a thrill seeker, and is drawn to activities like skydiving, flyer, racing cars, snowmobiling, and skiing. Along with the adrenaline charged activities Doug likes to camp and hike as well.
